How to be the English teacher you want to be in 2021
In his first vlog of 2021, Damien Herlihy kicks off his new series on professional development (PD). In episode 1, Damien looks at what teaching skills should make it onto your PD calendar in 2021.
In this vlog post for Pavilion ELT, Damien Herlihy introduces his new series for 2021. The theme for this year will be professional development (PD). This first episode looks at the big picture in PD and introduces the concept of Pareto’s Principal. This principal can be used by schools and teachers to help decide where to dedicate their valuable PD time.
He then goes on to highlight some good principles of practice in a PD setting and concludes by introducing viewers to MyCPD: a free tool for subscribers to help them track their professional development.
Please let us know how the series is making you reflect on your own teaching and/or what has worked well for you in the comments under the vlog or below our shares on the Pavilion ELT social media.
